Book 1 of the Trotillions Trilogy

Trotillions is a post-apocalyptic weird western novel series set in the Dead Lands — a desert territory reshaped by the Bonding Pandemic, a biological event that permanently linked surviving humans to animals. The bond determines social rank: predator-bonded humans form the dominant factions, while others become subordinate or outcast. Five major factions control the Dead Lands, each governed by the instincts and hierarchies of their bonded species. Domain rights are enforced through physical dominance rather than legal authority. The trilogy follows Viga Brand, a cat-bonded courier operating between factions, whose feline companion Rascal is revealed to have been communicating with the dead. Trotillions combines dark humor, action horror, and political satire — examining what human civilization looks like when humanity is no longer the only species capable of hierarchy, cruelty, and negotiation.
